Danbury PD Arrest 2 Men on Drug Charges
Police began the investigation after receiving complaints regarding drug trafficking near the home of one of the men
DANBURY, CT — Police arrested two Danbury men following a weeks long investigation.
Danbury police began the investigation after receiving complaints regarding drug trafficking near the home of Ronald Taveras-Castro, 30, at 110 Mill Ridge Road. After corroborating the complaints, police obtained search and seizure warrants for Taveras-Castro, his residence and a car registered to a relative.
On Tuesday at about 3:15 p.m., police apprehended Taveras-Castro and Luis “Kiko” Rodriguez, 27, of 3 Whitlock Street in Danbury, while they were stopped in traffic while driving in Taveras-Castro's car. After searching his car, person, and home, police found a package of marijuana, a "substantial" quantity of cocaine and a "substantial" quantity of opioids, according to the police report. In addition to the seized drugs, several hundred dollars was seized from Taveras-Castro’s residence.

Based on the listed information, both Taveras-Castro and Rodriguez were arrested.
Both men were charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a prohibited place, and possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a prohibited place.

Bonds for Taveras-Castro and Rodriguez were set at $100,000 and $50,000, respectively.
