Danbury PD Seeks Public Help in Search for Nursing Home Bandit

Police are looking for a woman who has stolen from two area elder care facilities.

DANBURY, CT —Police are seeking the public's assistance identifying a woman they say may have stolen wallets at two nursing homes.

Employees of the Saint John Paul Center, at 33 Lincoln Avenue, and the Glen Hill Center Assisted Living Facility, at 1 Glen Hill Road, reported thefts of wallets at both locations between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and noon on Thursday, police are reporting. The credit cards from the stolen wallets were later used at the Walmart on 67 Newtown Road.

Both nursing homes reported seeing an unknown heavy set black woman with long black braided hair, wearing nursing scrubs, on their grounds that same day. Video footage obtained from Walmart shows the female in question with two other unidentified black women at the self-check-out registers. The women were seen buying gift cards with the stolen credit cards. After completing their transactions, the suspects walked out of the store and got into a red Toyota Camry with tinted windows, police say.
