DANBURY, CT — The Danbury Police Department is hitting the ground, and running, in their latest recruitment effort.

The PD has released a video encouraging residents to "start training now" in preparation for upcoming CHIP physical ability assessments on Oct. 27 and Nov. 3.

"We're at it again," Lt. Vincent Daniello says in the recruitment video posted to Facebook and YouTube. "We're getting ready to hire entry-level officers."

Only applicants that have a valid CHIP card will be eligible to apply. CHIP assessment registration is available online.

The CHIP certification program was initiated in 1996 and enables Connecticut law enforcement candidates to apply to a network of participating police departments and helps departments conserve resources by outsourcing their testing.
