Danbury Police Arrest Man in Possession of Narcotics After First Attempt Leads to Wrong Man
A man who eluded police efforts turned out to be another individual in possession of a large amount of narcotics.

After a case of mistaken identity, Danbury police have arrested the man believed to be the real Andrew “Moe” Parra on Thursday.
According to police, members of the Special Investigation Division (SID), attempted to arrest who they thought was Andrew “Moe” Parra, 24, of Waterbury for several outstanding arrest warrants on Jan. 20. Upon contact with that individual, the individual eluded police efforts. However, this individual was not Parra.
Members of the Special Investigation Division observed the real Parra on Feb. 5 operating a white, 2015, Nissan, SUV.

While attempting to apprehend him for the outstanding warrants, Parra, in an effort to flee, intentionally crashed into two unmarked police cars.
When Parra’s car came to a stop, he and his two passengers were removed from his car. In doing so, a large quantity of illegal narcotics was found in plain view within the passenger compartment of the car, police said.

As none of the occupants claimed ownership of the narcotics, all three were placed under arrest.
All three were later transported to the Danbury Police Department where they were all charged with narcotics violations and held on bond pending release or arraignment.
Parra was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of crack cocaine, possession of narcotics with the intention to sell, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of a controlled substance, interfering with the duties of an officer, reckless endangerment, operating a car with a suspended license and for a parole absconder.
He is being held on a $200,000 bond.
The two passengers in the car, Joseph Parra, 27 and Henry Austin, 24, both of Waterbury were charged with possession of narcotics, possession of crack cocaine, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of a controlled substance and interfering with the duties of an officer.
Parra is being held on a $150,000 bond and Austin is being held a $100,000 bond.
During the incident on Jan. 20, the Danbury Police Department learned that the individual believed to be Parra was involved in a serious, one car accident on Route 7N in Brookfield. As a result of the extensive injuries sustained in the crash, this person was transported to Danbury Hospital and later sent to the Westchester Medical Center for specialized care and treatment.
Through further investigative efforts, it was learned that the person that eluded police and crashed was actually another individual that was in possession of a substantial quantity of crack cocaine and heroin.
