Danbury Police Arrest Waterbury Man on Drug Charges

The investigation was initiated after investigators received citizen complaints regarding Thompson's alleged illegal activity.

DANBURY, CT -- On Monday, May 22, Danbury police arrested Aairon Ronearl Thompson, 34, of 43 Wyman Street in Waterbury for drug and motor vehicle offenses, which stemmed from an investigation that began months earlier.

The investigation was initiated after investigators received citizen complaints regarding Thompson’s alleged illegal activity, according to police. Based on a further investigation, which revealed activity consistent with drug trafficking, on May 2, the superior court issued a search warrant for Thompson and his cellular devices.

On May 8, while investigators attempted to execute the search warrant for the person of Thompson and his cellular devices, he avoided apprehension by recklessly fleeing in a car that he was operating, police report. Prior to fleeing, investigators witnessed a drug transaction between Thompson and a well known drug user, who was stopped minutes later. When investigators detained the known drug user, the person dropped three pieces of crack cocaine and $50 from the transaction they made minutes earlier with Thompson, according to police. Based on the finding and Thompson’s flight, investigators were issued additional search warrants for Thompson, his car and his cellular and a warrant for Thompson’s arrest.

At approximately 12:20 p.m., investigators from the Special Investigations Division and Patrol took Thompson into custody at his place of employment, Action Auto Rentals, 30 Newtown Road, Danbury. Upon taking him into police custody, police say that Thompson tossed a quantity of crack cocaine to the ground in an attempt to separate himself from the contraband he was possessing. Based on the execution of the search warrants, Thompson was charged with the possession of a controlled substance.

Based on the above findings, Aairon Ronearl Thompson was placed under arrest and transported to the police department were he was processed and held on bond.

Thompson was charged with possession of a controlled substance, sale of a controlled substance, sale of a controlled substance within 1500' of a school, possession of a controlled substance within 1500' of a school, and reckless driving. for which the bond is $50,000; and
