Danbury Police Department Promotes 2 Officers, Makes History Too
Congratulations to the two officers who have earned their promotions.

The Danbury Police Department proudly announces the promotion of two Danbury Police Officers to the position of Police Sergeant.
Police Officer Amity LaFantano made history when she was sworn in at Danbury City Hall this morning when she became the department’s first female sergeant. Sergeant Lafantano became a member of the Danbury Police Department on December 27, 2007.
Prior to joining Danbury Police Department, she was a Police Officer in Newtown, CT. Sergeant LaFantano has served as a Field Training Officer since 2012; a Part Time Evidence Technician since 2011 and a Recruitment Team Member since 2014. Sergeant LaFantano has several letters of appreciation and commendations including Unit Citations in 2011 and 2012.

Police Officer Robert Conrad also was sworn in as a Sergeant at Danbury City Hall this morning. Sergeant Conrad began his career with the Danbury Police Department on January 12, 1998. Sergeant Conrad served as a member of the ESU Swat team from 1988 to 2010 and served as an Assistant Court Officer since July 2005. Sergeant Conrad has received numerous letters of appreciation and commendations including an Exceptional Police Service Award in 1991.
The Danbury Police Department is proud and honored of their accomplishments. Both Sergeant LaFantano and Sergeant Conrad exemplify our dedicated men and women in uniform of the Danbury Police Department who patrol our streets 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.
