Danbury Police Investigate Death of 74-Year-Old Woman Living In Car
A 74-year-old homeless woman was found dead in her car in Danbury. There were no signs of foul play, police said.
DANBURY, CT — The Danbury Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into the death of Nancy Proudfoot, a 74-year-old Danbury resident believed to have been residing in her car.
The incident unfolded on January 17, when Danbury officers were dispatched to a Newtown Road business to check on the well-being of an occupant in a car parked in the business lot.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman, identified as Proudfoot, known to be homeless, inside the vehicle and unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

As of now, there are no signs of foul play in connection with the incident, according to Det. Capt. Mark Williams.
An autopsy conducted by the state Medical Examiner's Office conslcuded Proudfoot died of a heart attack.
