Danbury Police Log: Heroin, Cocaine, DUI, Assault on an Elderly Person
The following information was provided by the Danbury Police Department. A person charged with a crime is not guilty until being found guilty in court.

Danbury police charged Meredith Howard, Saturday at about 5:13 p.m. with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernelia after stopping a car she was riding in near Danbury Hospital. Members of the Danbury Police Department's Special Investigations Division witnessed what they thought was a hand-to-hand drug deal between Howard and another person, and police followed Howard's car. When they stopped the car, police said they found a syringe in Howard's purse, plus four clear plastic bags labeled "Aligator" that later tested positive for heroin. Once at the police department, police found two additional bags in Howard's bra. They then found 49 more bags in her pants. They tested positive for heroin. Howard was held for arraignment.
In a separate case, Danbury police charged Roman Sari, 44, of Lawncrest Road, with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia following a lengthy investigation by the Danbury Police Department's Special Investigation Division. Sari was found to be living in the United States illegally, and was held on an ICE detainer and a $150,000 bond. Along with Sari, Daniel Sari-Loja, Bates Place, Danbury, was also charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. SID said the pair have been involved in drug sales throughout the city, and at the time of their arrest police found 5.3 grams of cocaine plus 12 small plastic bags.
Danielle Verboven, 19, Kaview Ave., Bethel, was charged with evading responsibility, driving under the influence and failure to drive right after a car she was driving hit a parked tow truck. Police said Verboven drove away and police found her in the car about 20 minutes later, but Verboven wasn't driving any more. Police said Verboven and a passenger told police they agreed Verboven was in no condition to drive.

Danbury Police charged Ian Sunden, 22, of New Fairfield, with second-degree assault on an elderly person and breach of peace after a fight outside a bar Thursday at about 9:45 p.m. Police said Sunden and the victim, a 69-year-old man, were known to each other, and they met coincidently at a bar. Sunden accused the older man with dating his girlfriend. When the older man went outside for a cigarette, police said Sunden followed him and attacked him. Police said witnesses said Sunden was kicking the man, who was curled up in a fetal position on the ground. Sunden was held on a $150,000 bond.
