Danbury Police Warn Of Officer Impersonation Scam
The department said scammers are even using the names of real officers.
DANBURY, CT — The Danbury Police Department says it has received reports of scammers posing as police officers.
The department said the scammers are even using the names of real officers.
"The caller claims the person has an arrest warrant for failing to appear in court and may provide fake badge numbers to sound legitimate," police said in a Facebook post.

The DPD noted it will never request payment or personal financial information over the phone.
