Danbury Public Schools Names New Director Of Academy Partnerships
Danbury Public Schools has named Nashville educator Brent Dean, director of Academy Partnerships.

DANBURY, CT — Danbury Public Schools has named Brent Dean, director of Academy Partnerships.
At his most recent job, Dean served as academy coach at Maplewood High School in Nashville, TN for five years. In that position, he worked closely with the Academies of Nashville team to promote happenings and developed local partnerships to help prepare and expose students to real-world opportunities, according to a news release from Danbury Public Schools.
The Danbury school district has begun a "multi-year transitional strategic plan that will transform the delivery of the High School program into a Wall-to-Wall Academy Model that focuses on multiple pathways that incorporate experiential learning opportunities for students in areas of interest, culminating in the opening of an additional satellite location for secondary education," according to the statement from DPS.

Dean will serve as the primary contact person and liaison between local businesses and community-based organizations and the schools' secondary education leaders.
"Mr. Dean’s experience and proven track record in ensuring collaborating with local businesses and maintaining long-range partnerships made him the ideal candidate for this position," said Superintendent Kevin Walston. "Mr. Dean has already proven to be a brilliant addition and asset as we continue to develop our Academy Model for the career academy which is expected to open in fall 2024."
Dean began this role on July 7, 2022.
