Danbury School Board Proposes $10 Million Budget Hike
The new $146 million spending plan represents a 7.34 percent hike over the current budget. It now goes before the City Council.
DANBURY, CT — The school board is seeking to add nearly $10 million to its budget in response to contractual increases as well as jump in enrollment, particularly at the high school. The new $146 million spending plan represents a 7.34 percent hike over the current budget, and would add nearly 58 full-time positions.
The school board approved Superintendent Sal Pascarella's proposed budget in a session on Wednesday night. It now moves over to the City Council. Historically, the Council tempers the budget request of the school board down to around a three percent increase.
