DANBURY, CT — The first day of school in Danbury is August 28 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you'll want to mark the date on your calendar. The Danbury School District has released its 2019-2020 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences. What it doesn't include is a list of back-to-school essentials and where to find them; you can find that here.

This is a 185 day calendar including five emergency closing days. If these days are not used
they will be deducted in June. Any additional days lost by emergency closing will be added
after June 17. Graduation will take place no later than June 17. After June 30, days will
be deducted from the end of April recess.
