Danbury Schools Delay Mask Decision Until March
The school board said it will take a little more time to decide whether to make masks optional in the Danbury Public Schools.
DANBURY, CT — The Board of Education has elected to wait until next month before deciding whether to make masks optional in Danbury Public Schools.
The decision to not take up the matter until the next regularly scheduled meeting on March 23 was presented at the start of a meeting Wednesday night by board chair Rachel Chaleski.
Factors that contributed to the decision included a previously scheduled vaccine clinic for children aged 5-11 which would enable them to be fully vaccinated by Mar. 22, and insufficient guidance issued by the state Department of Public Health.
