Danbury Star Student Developed A Temporary Housing Project
We all know students who excel in academic, fine arts or volunteer service. Here's one local resident who is having an impact in Danbury.

DANBURY, CT — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Dr. Kendall Reed who nominated PhD Health Science student Northern Star of Danbury.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
North has a local nonprofit and since 2016 they have developed a temporary housing project to support aged out foster children, college students, and local interns from out of state. Her sliding scale fee has assisted many employers including the Danbury Hospital sub contract and participate in training programs and internships due to the community living low cost housing her nonprofit organization provides her website is theconstantnorthernstar.com

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
Her selflessness particularly during Covid housed numerous traveling nurses and doctors who couldn’t afford the overpriced housing costs we continue to face. North says “people think that because you have an acronym behind your last name that you are wealthy and that is a complete misnomer”
Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Northern Star!
