Update: No Plea Entered in Case of Danbury Teacher Accused of Sexual Assault
The teacher's attorney asked for her arraignment to be postponed by another month.

The danbury High School teacher accused of second-degree sexual assault appeared in court today.
Kayla Mooney, 24, of Danbury turned herself in on March 31 on an active arrest warrant. She is also charged with distributing alcohol to a minor.
According to the News Times, Mooney is accused of having sex with a 17-year-old male student twice and of giving him vodka.

Mooney was supposed to be arraigned on the charges against her, instead her attorney told the judge he requested evidence from the prosecutors that he had not yet received, the paper reports. He asked for her arraignment to be postponed by a month.
Mooney did not enter a plea.

The investigation was conducted by the Danbury Police Department Special Investigation Unit after the incident was reported by Danbury High School administrators on Feb. 10.

According to the News Times, Mooney has been on administrative leave since that date and remains on paid leave.
