Danbury Teen Arrested for Attempted Carjacking with Knife in NY: Police
A family was in their car resting after driving on Rt. 172 in Bedford when they were confronted by an 18-year-old Danbury teen with a knife.

DANBURY, CT-- New York State Police arrested an 18-year-old Danbury teenager on March 27, 2016 after he tried to carjack a vehicle on Route 172 in Bedford, NY, according to a police report.
Christopher A. Guaman of Danbury, Connecticut was arrested for Attempted Robbery 1st Degree, a class C felony.

Police said at approximately 4 p.m on Sunday, a family traveling pulled over onto the shoulder of State Route 172 in the Bedford to take a break from driving. While resting, police said Guaman opened the driver’s side door and threatened the driver with a knife in an attempted carjacking, according to the report.
The victim drove away and reported the incident to Troopers Timothy Finnegan and Paul Sansone who were on patrol and canvassed the area, locating Guaman after a short foot chase, police said.
Guaman was arraigned in the Town of Bedford Court before Hon. David A. Menken and remanded to Westchester County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to reappear in Bedford Court on March 30, 2016 at 7 p.m. The State Police were assisted at the scene by the Town of Bedford Police.
