Danbury Teen Is Critical After Accidental Self-Inflicted Gunshot: PD
A Danbury youth is in critical condition following an "accidentally self-inflicted" gunshot wound, police said.
DANBURY, CT — A Danbury youth is in critical condition following a self-inflicted shooting in an apartment building Monday night, according to police.
Police responded to a complaint of shots fired at the building at 16 Comstock Street at around 9:30 p.m.
Inside, they found an unresponsive teenage male suffering from a single gunshot wound to his head, according to their post on social media. The teen was treated at the scene by medical personnel and taken to Danbury Hospital, and then to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he is listed as critical.

"While the incident investigation is ongoing, preliminary findings indicate the injury was accidentally self-inflicted," Det. Capt. Mark Williams said.
Investigators believe this is an isolated incident and poses no risk to the public, according to Williams.
