Danbury Toy Makers Invited To Washington D.C. Congressional Showcase

The founders of Danbury-based Luke's Toy Factory attended a Small Business Development Center event this week in Washington D.C.

The founders of a Danbury toy company were one of 10 businesses invited to participate in the Small Business Development Center’s annual congressional showcase held at the U.S. Capitol on Monday, according to the Stamford Advocate.

The founders of locally based Luke’s Toy Factory, Luke and James Barber, have been producing toy trucks made from a recycled materials made from plastic and sawdust.

According to their website, the company has taken out 30 percent of the plastic and replaced it with organic materials. There are no Phthalates, BPAs, lead or any other heavy metals are in their toys. They also use a bio-based plastic in their packaging.

“Our goal is to balance eco-friendly with safety and sustainability, while making toys that are affordable and fun,” they wrote.
