The 38-foot icon is currently getting a makeover

DANBURY, CT — Mayor Mark Boughton updated residents on the status of the Uncle Sam statue on Friday as it undergoes restoration.

The statue was taken to Robin's Graphics in Harwinton in February for a makeover after being stored in a hanger at the Danbury Airport following its return from the Magic Forest Amusement Park in Lake George, NY. last year.

The 38-foot statue of Uncle Sam presided over the Danbury Fair from 1971 to 1981.
