DANBURY, CT -- State Senator Michael McLachlan was joined Sunday by veterans and local elected officials to commemorate the dedication of Main Street, Route 53 in Danbury as the Danbury Veterans Memorial Highway.
“It was a distinct honor to be part of the process of dedicating this street to honor our fallen soldiers. The fact that it took place during Memorial Day weekend made it even more special,” Sen. McLachlan said. “I also was glad to see so many of our residents come out to honor our veterans and those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. It’s so important that we remember that blood was shed and lives were given so that we can enjoy living in a free country. We must never take that for granted.”
