Danbury Wants Nostalgic Holiday Lighting Look for 2015

The approval is working its way through City Hall.

Walking down Danbury’s Main Street during the upcoming holiday season, one might think they’d been transported back to the 1950s.

That is because the city is considering a retro look to its seasonal decorations, according to a report from NBC Connecticut.

Mayor Mark Boughton has allocated $65,000 for commercial-grade lighting fixtures and decorations that emulate a nostalgic look depicted in a photograph from 1948 that hangs in Danbury City Hall.

The matter will be discussed again at the council’s Nov. 20 meeting, NBC Connecticut said. Approval will still be needed to string the lights across the street.
