Danbury Woman Charged with Multiple Drug Trafficking Offenses

Police began the weeks-long investigation after receiving complaints from residents

DANBURY, CT — Police arrested a woman for drug trafficking within Danbury, after a weeks-long investigation.

Police began the investigation after receiving complaints that Jessica Hernandez, 29, was selling illegal drugs from the area of her residence on Ashe Place in Danbury, throughout the city.

Hernandez was apprehended shortly before 1 p.m. on Wednesday, after police stopped her in her car while she was driving along Coalpit Hill Road. Since she was driving her vehicle with a suspended license, she was placed under arrest. Officers next executed search warrants for her residence and the car, which was registered to a relative.

"The searches revealed a small quantity of marijuana, several grams of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and suspected drug proceeds ," said Lt. Mark Williams.

Hernandez was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of half an ounce of crack cocaine, possession of half an ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell within 1500 feet of a prohibited place, possession of drug paraphernalia within 1500 feet of a school and operating a vehicle with a suspended license. She was held on a $50,000 bond.
