#MyGivingStory
Though #GivingTuesday has passed, its storytelling contest goes on through Dec. 31. Please share what inspires you to give to DYS by posting it on Facebook with the hashtag #MyGivingStory. You could win $2,500-$10,000 in grants for DYS! Plus, your story could be featured on GivingTuesday.org.
Please tell your story by Dec. 31, and help us win a grant to support our programs that help local kids build life skills and confidence!

Have a neglected children's or adolescent bike taking up space in your garage? Even one that's a little broken? Donate it to Wheels for Kids, and make a local child's holiday bright!
We are once again collecting used bicycles to be repaired and spruced up by our young volunteers, then donated to Santa's Workshop at Dorothy Day Hospitality House as gifts for local children.
Trikes and bikes (ideally 20" or smaller) should be dropped off at Rogers Park Middle School on Tuesday, Dec. 13, from 3-8 p.m. Please contact Joseph Dobbins at (860) 375-4376 or earnabike.dys@gmail.com to volunteer.
Thanks for helping our kids to help others. Happy Holidays!
DYS 'Legacy' Amy Kohn Joins Board
Danbury Youth Services welcomes Amy Kohn to our Board of Directors. A healthcare administrator for more than 30 years, Amy grew up in Danbury and was among the first group of girls to be admitted to Wooster School. She comes from a family committed to community and volunteerism. Her father, a dentist in town for 52 years, served on the board of United Way, the American Red Cross and the Regional YMCA. Her mother, Eleanor "Ellie" Kohn, was one of the founders of Danbury Youth Services and served on the board here for many years. "It is so heartwarming to think I am now involved with an agency that held such an important place in my mother's life," Amy says. "I am honored to carry on her tradition."
