Danbury's Latest Memorial Day Weekend Forecast

A lot of people have barbecues planned with family and friends this Memorial Day weekend, and many others have plans to attend ceremonies and parades honoring those who died while serving in the country’s armed forces.

It’s clear from the latest National Weather Service forecast that Sunday is the best day to have outdoor plans as temperatures around Connecticut will be in the low to mid 70s and skies will be sunny.

Saturday isn’t bad either, just a bit chillier with temperatures in the mid to high 60s but again it will be sunny.

Earlier this week, thunderstorms and showers were forecast for Memorial Day itself, which is when numerous ceremonies and parades are scheduled.

The good news is, it appears the showers will hold off until Monday evening, and while it will be mostly cloudy there won’t be any rain during the day. Temperatures will be in the low to mid 70s on Monday.

It appears showers and thunderstorms are possible for Monday night and just in time for back to work and school on Tuesday.

• Today: A slight chance of rain after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
• Tonight: A chance of rain, mainly after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. South wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
• Friday: A slight chance of showers after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 71. Light west wind increasing to 9 to 14 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
• Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming clear, with a low around 35. Northwest wind 6 to 14 mph.
• Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 68. West wind 8 to 16 mph.
• Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 43.
• Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 77.
• Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47.
• Memorial Day: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 76.
• Monday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
