Westside Middle School Academy principal Frank LaBanca has announced his resignation.
DANBURY — Westside Middle School Academy principal Frank LaBanca has announced his resignation.
The notification was delivered as an email to parents on Monday.
LaBanca gave no reason for the move. He has served as principal since the school's opening in 2014.

A year later, he was named Outstanding First-Year Principal of the Year for 2015-16 by the Connecticut Association of Schools.
A Sandy Hook resident, LaBanca was formerly the director of the Center for 21st Century Skills at Education Connection.

In the note to families, LaBanca said the hiring process for Westside’s new principal will be managed by Superintendent Kevin Walston.
“I leave Westside in good hands hoping to see its continuing legacy grow,” LaBanca wrote.
