DAR Conservation Award Present to Dr. Frank Dye
Mary Wooster chapter honors Dr. Frank Dye

Mary Wooster Chapter recently presented the DAR Conservation Award to Dr. Frank Dye, the founding director of the Westside Nature Preserve in Danbury. In 1993 the Preserve started with 7.5 acres and has grown to 33 acres. It is a parcel of deciduous woodland and wetland on the campus of the school. The Preserve is multi-purpose: a safe haven for locally diverse flora and fauna for future generations, to provide an outdoor laboratory for studies of the environment and to be an educational resource for WestConn students and the larger community where the school is located.
