Delays Commence as Work to Widen I-84 Ramps in Danbury Begins
Exits 5 and 6 on I-84 are being widened.

Danbury motorists can expect to see delays on I-84 due to a transportation improvement project beginning this week, the Danbury News Times reports.
The interchanges at exits 5 and 6 will be reconstructed by the Connecticut Department of Transportation, the paper reports. A stretch of Route 37 known as North Street south of the highway and with Padanaram Road north to it will be widened.
The work is expected to be complete by Summer 2017.

According to the News Times, delays on I-84 can be expected Monday to Friday from 8 p.m.-6 a.m. on the eastbound exit 5 off-ramp. On the westbound exit 6 off-ramp delays can be expected from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
On the westbound exit 5 off-ramp and the eastbound exit 6 on-ramp, delays can be expected between from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Drivers on Padanaram Road near exit 6 can see delays from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Work will be limited from 6 p.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
