DANBURY, CT — A popular Danbury sports bar was back in business the very next day following an electrical fire Saturday night.

Firefighters were dispatched to Pippa's Sports Café at 114 South Street around 6:10 p.m. but arrived too late to put out the fire. That job was already taken care of by an off-duty Bridgeport fire captain, according to city spokesperson Erin Henry. No injuries were reported.

On its Facebook page, the bar thanked the Danbury Fired Department for their quick response, "…Joe Halas and his great crew and Jon Skidmore for fixing the electrical."
