Emergency Crews Respond To I-84 Truck Crash Early Monday Morning
Danbury police and firefighters received the call about an accident between Lake Ave Extension and Interstate 84 around 3:20 a.m. Monday.
DANBURY, CT — Emergency crews and a hotel employee came to the aid of a motorist who had driven off the road and down an embankment early Monday morning.
The Danbury Fire Department, Danbury Police Department and the Connecticut State police received the call about an accident between Lake Ave Extension and Interstate 84 around 3:20 a.m.
First responders found the cab of a truck had tumbled down off the Interstate, and came to rest in the area of heavy brush. An employee of the Ethan Allen Inn saw the accident and pulled the driver to safety, according to Fire Department officials.

The driver was cared for by EMS and taken to the hospital.
Firefighters needed to clear brush and debris to gain access to the truck, to address hazards associated with the crash, and provide access for the tow recovery.

There was no truck trailer or hazardous materials involved, according to the Fire Department. Emergency crews worked onsite for three hours.
