Feds Approve Pipeline Expansion Through Danbury
The expansion plans would take 18 months to complete.

A $972 million expansion of a natural gas pipeline that runs from New York to Boston and cuts through Danbury was approved, the News Times reports.
According to the publication, Houston-based Spectra Energy received approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on Tuesday. Opponents to the expansion have 30 days to file an appeal and Spectra has 60 days to file its implementation plan with FERC.
The expansion plan includes enlarging a 4.5 mile section of the pipeline along I-84.
