Feds Nab New Milford Man Who Sold Gun In Danbury Homicide
Police say the man sold a Walther Model P22, .22-caliber handgun with an obliterated serial number to a Danbury man involved in a shooting.
DANBURY, CT — A federal grand jury has returned an indictment of a New Milford man police say sold the gun in the September 4 Hancock Drive homicide.
Nikos Chelioudakis, 34, of New Milford, was indicted on Feb. 20 for multiple firearm offenses.
Police say Chelioudakis sold a Walther Model P22, .22-caliber handgun with an obliterated serial number to David Ramos, of Danbury. Shortly after the sale, Ramos used the gun to shoot and kill Jason James Lowry Hoffman of Brewster, NY, in the basement of Ramos' Hancock Drive home, according to court documents.

The indictment charges Chelioudakis with one count of possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, which carries a maximum term of imprisonment of five years; one count of unlawful possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, which carries a maximum term of imprisonment of 10 years, and one count of unlawful sale or transfer of a firearm to a prohibited person, which carries a maximum term of imprisonment of 10 years.
Chelioudakis has been detained since his arrest on March 5.
