Fire Department Comes to Aid of Danbury Man

The source of the kitchen fire is still under investigation.

DANBURY, CT - The Fire Department answered a call about a kitchen fire on Tuesday morning. The homeowner was able to extinguish the fire, but still required hospitalization for smoke inhalation.

The FD was dispatched around 7:30 a.m. to 11 Woodbury Lane. There they found the reported fire extinguished, but the kitchen heavily damaged from a cooking fire and resultant smoke conditions. The resident was able to extinguish the flames using a hose. He was taken by Danbury EMS to Danbury hospital.

“The home owner was very lucky that he was able to extinguish the fire with a small hose and using a towel to cover his face, but judging from the damage he was very lucky he did not suffer more than mild smoke inhalation,” said Deputy Fire Chief Williams.
