Fire Displaces Family from Danbury Apartment

DANBURY, CT — Firefighters extinguished a blaze that displaced a family from their apartment in the City on Friday morning, the News-Times is reporting.

The fire began in the kitchen of the third-floor apartment in the building that is also home to Polla’s Supermarket, located at 399 Main Street in Danbury.

The fire, which began around 9:55o a.m., shut down the northbound side of Main Street from the intersection by the Citgo gas station to the fire for under an hour, and is under investigation by the Fire Marshal's Office.
