The Basic Steps You Need to Know

Thinking about becoming a homeowner? Learn all about the procedures and key terms of home buying at a free workshop for first-time home buyers on Saturday, February 9 from 10 am to noon at Housatonic Habitat for Humanity, 51 Austin Street, Danbury.
Speakers including Beverly Hoppie of Bridgeport Neighborhood Trust; Donna Chillemi of Fairfield County Bank,
Daniel DiBartolomeo, attorney and Realtor Patty McManus,William Pitt Sotheby's International Realty. The panel will explain the steps to take before searching for a home, the advantages of home ownership and how to qualify for a mortgage.

The workshop will also review the basics of home mortgages and practical financial planning, and Housatonic Habitat volunteer Allison Homberg will discuss the Habitat model, which includes a Habitat-held mortgage for families who meet specific criteria.
