DANBURY, CT -- Four condominiums were heavily damaged in a fire that broke out around 6:30 a.m. Friday. All residents escaped to safety.
Two occupants were evaluated by EMS on scene for smoke inhalation but were released. One firefighter was transported to the Danbury Hospital ER for an evaluation.
Danbury firefighters units were alerted by Western Connecticut 911 Dispatch of a reported fire in a condo at 120 Triangle Street. Responding units reported a column of smoke visible from White Street, with a heavy volume of smoke and fire showing from the rear of the condo.

Crews escalated the incident to a third alarm, which brought in additional Danbury Fire units, Danbury Hospital Emergency Medical Service, the Danbury police, and Bethel Fire & EMS with a ladder truck.
Fire units worked for over an hour to contain the fire which was held to four units, stopping the fire from extending to four additional units. The American Red Cross Connecticut was requested for the displaced occupants and the remaining units were able to be reoccupied. The Danbury Fire Marshal’s Office was requested to the scene and is investigating the cause of the fire.

Streets were reopened shortly before 9 a.m.
