Four Union Savings Bank employees graduate from extensive two-year Connecticut Banking Association program

Union Savings Bank is pleased to announce Jenna Meyn, assistant vice president, loan servicing; Kara Perrin, assistant vice president, branch manager; Alfredo Calderon, branch manager, retail banking officer; and Vanessa Lynn, anti-money laundering administrator, recently graduated from the Connecticut School of Finance and Management (CSFM). They received their certificates of completion at a ceremony at the Trumbull Marriott on April 10, where Meyn was named valedictorian. “At Union Savings Bank, we are dedicated to the growth, development and success of our employees,” said bank President and CEO Fran Dattalo. “Through our sponsorship with the CSFM program, our employees benefit from the team-building, hands-on experience and guidance the program offers.” CSFM is a competitive two-year program sponsored by the Connecticut Banking Association with the purpose of providing the employees of Connecticut member banks with a broad perspective on the banking industry as a whole, as well as instruction on select managerial topics related to banking. During the program, students attend monthly, full-day classes taught by banking industry specialists, complete take-home assignments and write a first-year paper. The program ends with the completion of BankSim, an assignment intended to replicate the management of a bank over a period of three years. The project includes visits from state bank examiners, auditors, stockholders and the media. Students work together in teams that compete against each other for overall market share and leadership while remaining in compliance with banking laws and regulations.
