Funeral, Visitation Planned For Danbury Officer Andrew Katkocin
Funeral arrangements have been announced for Danbury police officer Andrew Katkocin, who died suddenly Dec. 5 at the age of 37.
DANBURY, CT — Funeral arrangements have been announced for Danbury police officer Andrew Katkocin, who died suddenly Dec. 5 at the age of 37.
According to his obituary, Katkocin went to New Fairfield High School and graduated from Western Connecticut State University, where he played football and lacrosse. Katkocin, a Danbury native, worked for the police department for 12 years.
Katkocin is survived by his daughter Sydney; his brothers Matthew, Christopher, and Ryan and their wives; his mother Peggy; several nieces and nephews, and his former wife Rebecca Katkocin (Cipolla).

Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 12 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Edward the Confessor Church on Monday, Dec. 13 at 10:30 a.m. A private interment will be held Dec. 14.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made in Officer Katkocin's memory to The Wounded Blue.

This is the second Danbury officer who has died in the past several weeks. Sergeant David Cooney died Nov. 28 after a battle with cancer at age 45.
