'The Gallery' at City Hall Shows Toni Miraldi
"Obstructed View" began on July 9 and will run until the closing reception on September 13.

DANBURY, CT — Now hanging on the walls of “The Gallery” at City Hall is a series called “Obstructed View” from local artist and muralist Toni Miraldi.
Miraldi’s work is a product of the Cultural Alliance of Western CT’s Accessible Art Program. Miraldi designed three traffic box art wraps for the City of Danbury in the “Outside the Box” program. Two of the wraps are currently visible on Main Street, and her third piece entitled “Danbury in Motion” will be located at the intersection of White Street and Patriot Drive.
“Obstructed View” began on July 9 and will run until the closing reception on September 13.

Regarding the show, Miraldi states “Things get in the way. Whether it is an object blocking our view or an obstacle preventing us from reaching our goals, obstructions are a part of existence. We may not be able to prevent them or even remove them, but we can often find a way through the barriers.”
In the “Obstructed View” series, each canvas is fragmented, resulting in images that are incomplete, encumbered, blocked. Nevertheless, the paintings persist, reminding us to see through the Obstructions to the light on the other side.
In 2016, Miraldi left a career in e-commerce operations and graphic design to pursue art and mural painting full-time, launching her company, Mural Envy. Since re-entering the art world, she has exhibited in three solo shows and one group show organized by the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut. Her murals, paintings and prints can be found in public, private, and commercial collections across the United States and in the UK.
