Like 'Gumby?' Make You're Own After This Danbury Library Program

The Danbury Public Library this week is hosting a unique, virtual program on the art of stop-motion animation.

DANBURY, CT — If you're a fan of Gumby, then the Danbury Public Library's program this Wednesday, Jan. 28, just might be for you.

That's because the library is hosting a live, virtual program called "Introduction to Stop Motion Animation" with Lorenzo Volpintesta.

It will take place online at 5 p.m.

This beginner-friendly virtual workshop introduces folks to the "captivating and creative world of stop-motion animation."

Of course, stop-motion animation is exemplified by the popular, 1950/1960s cartoon "Gumby and Friends," which younger generations enjoyed for years in reruns.

Other examples include those beloved Christmas TV specials like Rudolph, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, and The Year Without A Christmas, among others.

The program is designed for aspiring animators and "curious minds alike, this engaging one-hour session will equip you with the foundational knowledge and practical insights needed to embark on your own stop-motion journeys from the comfort of your home."
