Housatonic Habitat receives grant from People’s United

People’s United Community Foundation and its Board of Directors have shown their support of Housatonic Habitat for Humanity with a donation to its mission of building workforce housing for local families.

“We are happy to support the important work you are doing, and wish you continued success in your efforts,” stated Karen Galbo, Executive Director of People’s United Community Foundation. The Habitat model includes volunteer-led home construction with a 0% interest Habitat-held mortgage.

Housatonic Habitat for Humanity focuses on making a meaningful difference in the lives of qualified working families by promoting financial stability and self-sufficiency through ownership of affordable homes. By providing decent, affordable, safe housing to qualified regional families, Housatonic Habitat contributes to community revitalization in the greater Danbury region by creating homes that can transform a street and neighborhood and add value to the community.
