Burning ATV Caused Saturday Garage Fire
The Danbury Fire Department responded to a house fire Saturday that heavily damaged a garage on Darrell Road, and the Danbury Fire Marshals said a hot ATV was the most likely cause.

The Danbury Fire Department responded to a fire at 4 Darrell Road Saturday afternoon, and Assistant Fire Chief Charles Slagle said it appeared from the reports that no one was injured.
Deputy Fire Marshal Bill Weber said on Tuesday his investigation showed the most likey cause was accidental and unintentional. Weber said one of the homeowners, Sonia Fluskey was driving her quad and when she got home, she parked it in the garage. Five or ten minutes later she went back into the garage and found the quad burning. She tried to extinguish the fire using a dry chemical extinguisher, but the qad kept burning. The other homeowner, Selena Sawtelle called 911, and by the time the fire department arrived, the quad had set fire to the attached garage.
"At least no one was hurt," Weber said. He also said a dry chemical fire extinguisher is the right type to fight this fire.
