Hundreds Dress the Harry Potter Part as the Final Film Premieress

People dressed like Hagrid, Harry, Hermione, Ron, Dumbledore, Luna, Nevil and many other characters as they stayed up until midnight Thursday for the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2.

People lined up before 9 p.m. Thursday for the midnight premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2. In all, they filled 14 theaters, and the line stretched into the more than 100 yard parking lot. Most people dressed the part of one of their favorite characters.

Casey Green, of Danbury, said she started reading the popular books, got through Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and stopped reading. "I started again two years ago," Green said.

Jennifer Koenig, of New Fairfield, convinced her friends to read the books and to attend the movies. She brought two friends from work to the premiere Thursday.

Kevin Rovelli, of Newtown, said he'd read each of the seven books in the series two or three times.

"All of them," Rovelli said.

Donny Morrissey said his favorite book was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It's his favorite because it wrapped up the whole story.

"We grew up with it and we just graduated. Harry Potter just graduated," said Kate McMorran, 18, of Newtown.

Daniel O'Connor, of Newtown, said he liked the character Severus Snape best.

"He was so ruthless," O'Connor said.

"After the movie, I'm going home to cry," said Ellie Molwitz, 15, of Ridgefield, who attended the movie with at least six friends.

Her friend Aimee Manderlink, 15, has visited the Harry Potter theme park in Orlando three times.

Another of their Ridgefield friends, Maxine Garelick, 15, made her own admission.

"I've never seen or read Harry Potter in my life. I'm just not into the whole fantasy thing or whatever," Garelick said.
