For many high school sports, National Signing Day has become a celebrated event. Student-athletes are not required to sign their National Letters of Intent for the colleges they are attending, but many do. A National Letter of Intent is a contract signed by both the student-athlete and their college or university.
"We are thrilled for all our student-athletes who have worked so hard for this," said Immaculate Athletic Director Nelson Mingachos, who oversees 40 school teams – 26 of which are varsity sports. "At Immaculate we believe in developing well-rounded students and offer competitive sports programs to our Mustangs that don’t just challenge them physically, but cultivate leadership skills and sportsmanship."
