It will be more than just a wine tastings when Housatonic Habitat for Humanity celebrates its 25th anniversary event

Housatonic Habitat for Humanity celebrates its 25th anniversary event

It helps to have someone you know in the business to make it “happen”. Habitat Volunteer Paula Cosgrove, turned to her husband, Mike, when the call went out to find someone to host a wine tasting at Housatonic Habitat's 25th anniversary event on Sept. 23. Mike, who owns King's Corner Liquor Store of Westport, then turned to his distributor, Matthew Habdas of The Winebow Group. Matt is volunteering his extensive wine expertise as a sommelier to select a wine tasting list that will be hard to beat and enhance the event. A “sommelier” specializes in all aspects of wine service as well as wine and food pairing.

Wines are being selected from the The Winebow Group, a national importer and distributor of fine wine and craft spirits, with a focus on education and outstanding customer service. The Winebow Group’s distribution network reaches over 70 % of the wine consumption in the U.S. including Connecticut.

To enquire about the fundraising event call 203-744-1340 or www.housatonichabitat.org. Housatonic Habitat serves Western Connecticut and in addition to providing affordable housing, also works with local volunteers and businesses to provide low-cost home repairs, and operates ReStore, a home improvement thrift warehouse.
