Jury Finds Danbury Man Guilty of Sex Assault, Child Porn Charges

A 53-year-old Danbury man has been found guilty of multiple sexual assault charges and possession of child pornography.

DANBURY, CT — A Danbury man has been found guilty of sexual assault of a minor over a period of 14 years.

Kenneth Gardner, 53, was arrested in May 2022 after an investigation that began in September 2021. The inquiry arose following a complaint in which a victim told authorities they had been sexually abused by Gardner between the ages of four and 18 years old, on an almost daily basis.

During the course of the investigation, another victim alleged that they were was also sexually assaulted by Gardner as a teenager. At trial, both victims testified and recounted the incidents of sexual abuse. The state also presented evidence that showed an electronic device belonging to Gardner contained more than 65 images of child pornography.

On Jan. 11, a Danbury Superior Court jury found Gardner guilty of three counts of first-degree sexual assault, five counts of illegal sexual contact with a minor, attempt to commit first degree sexual assault, third-degree conspiracy to commit sexual assault and first-degree possession of child pornography.

Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 21 in Danbury Superior Court.
