Want to learn more about wines and spirits, sample some, and support Housatonic Habitat for Humanity? Then come to a special evening of wine and spirits classes on November 7, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Max Wines & Liquors, 40A Mill Plain Road, Danbury. Tickets are $20 per person online, $25 at the door. There will be five short classes about wines and distilled spirits, some music, hors d’oeuvres, and a silent auction. The classes cover key considerations in wine selection, including how to order the right one for the right occasion. Experts will also explain important characteristics of spirits, such as gin, vodka and rum. The evening benefits Housatonic Habitat for Humanity, which builds housing for first-time home buyers in greater Danbury.
