Love Between The Covers For Valentine's Day at the Palace Danbury Theatre
Pulling Back The Covers On A Billion Dollar Industry
This Valentine’s Day spend the afternoon with some LOVE BETWEEN THE COVERS. No, we’re not propositioning you… just inviting you to the CT premiere of the documentary film Love Between The Covers Danbury’s Palace Theatre.
Love stories are universal. Love stories are powerful. Yet when it comes to the literary world, romance novels are at the bottom of the food chain. Here’s a newsflash...Romance titles outsell every other category of writing. Big time!
The documentary film Love Between The Covers pulls back the covers on this much maligned genre. Romance fiction is sold in 34 languages on six continents and grosses more than a billion dollars a year- outselling mystery, fantasy, and sci-fi combined. The film is the fascinating story of the vast, funny, and savvy female community that has built this powerhouse industry.

For three years, filmmaker Laurie Kahn followed the lives of romance authors as they built their businesses, coped with a tsunami of change in publishing, and earned a living doing what they love — while empowering others to do the same.
On Sunday, February 14 at 1pm, The Palace will host the Connecticut premiere of the documentary. In addition to the screening, audience members will have the opportunity to meet published (and soon-to-be published) romance writers from The Romance Writers of Southern Connecticut and Lower New York (CoLoNY), the local chapter of Romance Writers of America, an association of almost 10,000 members.
