Mama Bear and Cubs Spied in Danbury Park
The ursine visitors were spied along the park's orange trail over at Mountainville Road.
DANBURY, CT — Tarrywile Park & Mansion are warning nature-lovers about a mama bear and her three cubs which were spotted roaming the grounds earlier this week.
The ursine visitors were spied along the park's orange trail over at Mountainville Road.
"Please be aware, alert and proceed with caution," Tarrywile officials posted on social media on Thursday. "Please, please keep your dogs on a leash at all times. "

The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is reporting that there have been 60 sightings of black bears reported in Danbury as of July 17.
DEEP warns residents not to approach or try to get closer to a bear to get a photo or video, leave food out overnight, or add meat or sweets to a compost pile. If you do find yourself the object of a bear's attention, DEEP advises to back away slowly and never run or climb a tree. If attacked by a bear, fight back with whatever is available, and don't try to play dead.
