Officials say the substance inside the vial was actually a crushed plant from Africa, the Danbury News Times reports. The man believed he had a remedy for the Ebola virus.

But the man brought the vial to the wrong office and it ended up leading to the evacuation of ComNet, a fiber optic company at 3 Corporate Drive.

Original story:

A man dropped off a vial labeled “Ebola” at a Danbury building mistaking it for a medical facility, according to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

The vial claimed to have a cure for the virus. The Danbury Fire Department requested the assistance of DEEP officials to assess and properly handle the vial.

DEEP officials determined it did not post any risk to human health or the environment. The vial will be sent to the state health laboratory for further tests as a precaution.

The unidentified man left the vial at International Communications, located at 3 Corporate Drive, which has since been closed to the public. Local health officials will determine when the building can reopen.

The FBI is assisting DEEP with the investigation.
