Motorcyclist Freed from Under Truck After Head-On Collision: Danbury Fire
Firefighters used the "jaws of life" to free the motorcyclist from the crash.
DANBURY, CT — The "Jaws of Life" freed a man trapped under the front bumper of a pickup truck following a head-on collision on Newtown Road, according to the Danbury Fire Department.
Fire and EMS units responded to a crash involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle at the intersection of Old Shelter Rock Road Monday at 2:34 p.m. Firefighters found that the motorcycle driver's leg was trapped between the front bumper of the truck and the motorcycle.
To free the man, responders used the Hurst "Jaws of Life" along with the adjunct tool, the "TL-9." The motorcycle driver was freed within moments. The TL-9 tool was manufactured by a retired Waterbury firefighter.
